Surat was born from a personal story. My name is Yana Smolentseva, and I am a Ukrainian actress. Surat is my maiden name. I chose it as the name of the brand to honor the memory of my father and to thank my parents for the strength I carry within me.
Eight years ago, one role changed my life. After filming a popular TV series in which I played the antagonist, viewers began to see me as the same person as my character. It triggered a wave of hate that was incredibly painful. At that moment, a friend told me:“Wear a mirror. Let it reflect all the negativity.”
We took a small mirror from an old powder compact, went to a jeweler — and that is how the first mirror pendant was born. It became my personal protection, a symbol of strength and inner balance.
From that moment on, I realized that I wanted other people to be able to have such jewelry too. But a mirror is a very fragile material that is difficult to work with. It took years to find a technology that would make it possible to combine a real mirror with high-level jewelry craftsmanship.
The meaning and philosophy of SuratIn Surat jewelry, the mirror is not just a detail. It protects, reflects and preserves. It is a symbol of harmony, strength and self-knowledge. The mirror is the foundation of every collection and every piece of the brand.
I believe that jewelry can have not only aesthetic but also deep spiritual value. That is why every Surat piece is created with a purpose — to help its owner preserve their inner world, reflect the light and cut off everything unnecessary.
What makes us uniqueSurat is the first and only jewelry brand in the world that creates jewelry with a real mirror. We have registered intellectual property and a patent for this unique idea.
